There is something quietly beautiful about creating simply because it is who you are — whether anyone is watching or not.
I painted this old crabapple tree en plein air (from life) last month.
It has stood in the same place for many decades, quietly flowering and producing its bright fruit. It doesn't need an audience. It simply grows, flowers and bears fruit — being what it is.
This painting is my reflection on that idea: that perhaps we, too, are called to create simply because creation is part of who we are.
